My Story

I was born in Kuala Lumpur and came to England 34 years ago to study for the Bar. The plan was simple: qualify, return home, start a career. Then I met my husband, plans changed. That’s been a recurring theme in my life: the unexpected shaping the meaningful.

My career never followed a straight path. I worked through every stage: legal secretary during my law degree, retail shifts during Bar school, practising lawyer while completing my Master’s. I chose to start a family before climbing the career ladder, which meant hitting milestones later than my peers. But that also gave me something you can’t get from a conventional trajectory: perspective, patience, and a deep sense of priorities.

I’ve always seen myself as a businessperson who happens to know the law. That’s why I chose in-house roles over private practice. I wanted to be near the heart of decisions, where value is created (and sometimes lost). For two decades, I specialised in technology law: vendor agreements, compliance frameworks, and global contracts worth over £100 million.

And everywhere I went, I saw the same pattern. Contracts perfectly negotiated…but poorly managed after signature. Missed renewals. Unenforced terms. Obligations buried in inboxes. Organisations quietly losing 8–15 % of contract value without realising it.

In 2019, I completed an LLM in IT Law with research on AI liability that went on to win academic recognition, positioning me years ahead of today’s AI conversation. Five years later, after a 70‑hour ordeal consolidating a contract with 61 separate amendments, I decided enough was enough. That moment sparked Consolidocs, the solution I wish had existed throughout my career.

Today, I divide my time between building that solution and helping others understand why contracts fail and how to fix them. I speak, write, and advise because I’ve lived this problem for decades! and because I believe real progress starts when we talk honestly about what’s hard, not just what’s possible.

Who I Am Beyond Work

Life is too interesting to be just about contracts and companies.

I love to cook and entertain. There’s something deeply satisfying about bringing people together around food and watching conversations unfold. I dance whenever I get the chance. It’s one of those things that makes everything else make sense.

I have what my family diplomatically calls a “penchant for speed.” Cars, planes, if it goes fast, I’m interested. Right now, I’m learning to fly a Cessna 152. At 60. Because why not?

I’m also learning French, which is humbling in the best way. Fluency feels impossibly far away, but I love the process of getting incrementally less terrible at something.

These aren’t hobbies that balance work, they’re part of who I am. You can’t be interesting if work is all you do, and you can’t solve interesting problems if you don’t live an interesting life.
